The 2018 summer sales started yesterday in France. Six weeks to do good business and find the best products at attractive prices. What are the consumer expectations for this year ?
Note that sales are in their last edition in the format of six weeks. As of next year, they will go to four weeks. A new welcome positively by 58% of French people !
Despite the many promotional offers offered throughout the year, the French seem to find the sales period always attractive. These six weeks are now anchored in the lives of French people and their consumption habits. Indeed, 6 out of 10 French wait for this period with impatience to make their purchases of summer, synonymous with strong savings for them. Their purchases are usually even postponed until that date.The consumer budget is however down: less 40 € for women, and less 18 € for men.
The surprise of this study concerns the attractiveness of the French for the physical store. Indeed, depending on the type of product, some prefer to go directly to the store to obtain sound advice or test the product before purchase.
